What is Krafting Krowns?

One clever idea, endless tension

Be the first to kraft 9 Power Krystals and become ruler of Krystalia — by transforming your dice from Raw Krystal to Power Krystal. The moment you place your 9th Power Krystal on your Krown, you win instantly.

The Goal

No fiddly end-game scoring. Turn your Raw Krystals (dice showing 1) into radiant Power Krystals (dice showing 3). Reach nine and the crown is yours — game over, on the spot.

The same eight-sided dice are your money and your materials. In the Gathering phase you roll them to influence cards. In the Krafting phase you manipulate their value toward Power Krystals. Every die you spend influencing is one you can't kraft with.

The Tools

Three kinds of cards

MAGIC cards establish and transform dice values. MASTER cards add the finishing touches to kraft a Power Krystal. MENACE cards let you sabotage, disrupt and outwit your rivals.

Two phases, one resource

Influence it, then build with it

Gathering. Roll your dice and compete for the cards laid out in the central area. High rolls win the tools you'll need.

Krafting. Allocate dice to your Krafting zones and play cards to nudge their values upward — from Raw Krystal all the way to Power Krystal.

Beware: victory isn't just skill and strategy. Sometimes a little trickery, deception or sabotage is exactly what it takes to outwit your rivals.

Hidden far from the eyes of the ordinary world lies Krystalia — a secret, magical realm where countless mystical beings dwell in secrecy. The long-lived ruler of Krystalia met a sudden end, and the throne now stands empty.

You have been chosen and summoned to compete in the event of Krafting Krowns. Join forces with the Masters and Menaces of the many Factions of Krystalia, summoning Magic to turn your Raw Krystals into radiant Power Krystals — and kraft the Krown of Krystalia itself.

Our journey

The Story So Far

It started small. In 2025, Krafting Krowns made its debut at SPIEL Essen — the largest board game fair on Earth — with a tiny first run of the Pocket Edition. Six Factions, a fistful of eight-sided dice, and a throne left empty in the hidden realm of Krystalia. That little box did its job: people sat down, rolled, influenced, schemed, and Krafted their way toward the Krown. Then they wanted more.

So we spent the next year making more. What's coming isn't a reprint — it's a second edition, rebuilt and refined over a full year of playtesting, community feedback, and late-night design tinkering. Same soul, sharper edges: the tension between gathering dice and Krafting them into Power Krystals is tighter than ever, and the six Factions of Krystalia have never had a better stage to fight over the throne.

The throne goes up for grabs in September 2026. That's when Krafting Krowns launches on Kickstarter — the second edition, in full, ready to ship to tables everywhere. If you were there at Essen, you already know. If you weren't, this is your invitation.
